So you recognize this place from home, huh?

[Hi, Alex. What's a greeting? Newt's never heard of manners. Anyway, Newt is of the opinion that the west wing is now creepy, so may as well strike up a conversation if he's going to be here.]

[The west wing is awfully grim post-trial, but it's a better place to sleep than the school, so Newt finds himself there later in the evening. He's too wound up to sleep even though he's exhausted.

Luckily, Nonon is also here. Cool. He wanted to check in with her.]

Hey. You doing okay?

[It's odd how many people are still milling around the carnival after all the terrible shit that went down here the other night. It helps that not everyone has to actually witness it, he figures. And it's certainly a more lively scene than the courtyard or the rest of the temple.

Newt spots Sieg and heads over.]

You talk to Merriment yet?

[That's related and important right now, for sure.]

[It's a little jarring to find Hiro chilling in front of the fun house, but it's not like there's any leftover remnants of murder, so... It's fine. Yaaaay carnivals?

Newt just plops down next to him.]

You good?

[Newt was hoping Rachel would stop by the parlor tonight. He waves her in when he spots her at the door, and starts playing a song on the piano.]

It'll be quick, at least, if that other guy's smiting is anything to go by.

[He says it as he's playing.]

You know you don't need a wish to go kick ass back home, right?
arockstar: (003)
[Newt finds Shang Qinghua on the beach in the west wing. It feels fitting, for some reason, though he can't place why.]

Hey. Sorry about your god.
arockstar: (034)
[Newt's had a busy night. It's taken a fair amount of time to set the stage—ransacking the lab, dismantling the generator, rigging up the trap in the fun house... But it's finally time to go find Hector. This is the nervewracking part of it all. Once the plan is underway, Newt will feel better, but for now, he's jittery. It's annoying. Maybe if he'd had more time to plan...

Whatever. It doesn't matter now. He heads for the school to begin the search, but he stops short when he spots something moving on the football field. Uh oh. Another murder? This could give him a leg up at the trial if he manages to stay unseen.

He ducks behind the bleachers to watch, but it doesn't take him long to realize what he's seeing: It's Hector, and he's... Digging? And that sure is a body next to him. Huh.

Newt should just lay low until Hector's done with whatever he's doing. Hide, get the jump on him as he's leaving, and kite him into the trap as planned. But, dammit, he can't fight the curiosity. If nothing else, confronting the guy will just speed things along. They don't have all fucking night.]

I gotta say, I'm impressed. Didn't think you had it in you.

[Newt approaches with his hands in his jacket pockets, fingers gripping the mirror shard just in case.]

Then again, you are one of Ruin's, so I can't be too surprised.

[Newt hasn't spent a whole lot of time in the fortune teller's den. He hasn't had much reason to, honestly. It's not like he believes in this crap.

But apparently that's where Julius is hanging out, so now he's here, eyeing everything in the room rather judgmentally. Even with real actual gods in play, it all still seems bogus to him. But whatever. There's more important things at hand.]

I kind of doubt we're followers of the same god, but it'd be pretty funny if we were.

[Hey.]
